Born and raised on the Southside of San Antonio, John's commitment to his community was instilled from an early age by his parents - his father a local minister, and his mother a dedicated school principal.

John's life has been marked by a calling to serve others and protect the community he loves. After graduating, he answered the call to duty as a Deputy in the Bexar County Sheriff's Department for five years. He then joined the San Antonio Fire Department, where he served for over 25 years.
